This is our third year of working with the producers of Palamalai and this lot is from a set of farmers who partnered to adopt our practices for the first time and choose to process their produce this way as selectively picked when ripe and shade dried as natural.
Our hands-on selective-harvesting training — picking only fully ripe cherry — lifts cup quality directly, and because we pay a quality premium on clean fruit, it lifts farmer revenue in the same motion.

Kallakinaru loosely translates to stone well from Tamil, apt for the trail that is the path in and out of this village from the main road which is brimming with pebbles to boulders. For the residents treading by foot over rocks is the primary way of transport to move around. Remarkable to say the least this village connected with us through SITHARA midway through the harvest and immediately ramped up the quality of their practices to produce a better tasting cup for the consumer upon hearing our agenda. Inspite of joining at halftime they completed the harvest as the highest contributing village in our overall produce this year.
